As a student and a future teacher I will use Wikipedia. I find Wikipedia to have a great source of information that is available for me to use. Wikipedia is also very easy to access. Though sometimes questionable information is put on there, I will go and look at another source to see if it is correct or not. Most of the time Wikipedia can be a very reliable source to use. I do find it to be a wonderful place to go and find quick information I need or information I need for a project.
I found Wiki to be something very interesting and how it works. I find it neat that you can go online and edit a website and the information on there. Also, I was interested to see that you can go and create your own website. This would allow me as a teacher to create and edit my own website for my class.

Podcast/Videocasts
Podcasts and videocasts are a great teaching tool that can be used by teachers in the classroom. Podcasts are easy to access and use if you have the internet. You can go and find a videocast that pertains to the lesson you taught on and let the students watch a video on it. The videocast can tie up any lose ends that you, as the teacher, might have missed. I think videocast will be something I will enjoy using in my classroom.

Blogs as Teaching Tools
Blogs are very wonderful thing for teacher to use. They allow teachers to interact with other teachers and also parents. Teachers can post their ideas and teaching tips. You can post creative classroom set up plans for everyone to see. Also, you can post your lesson plans so that parents know what is being taught for that week of school. Blogs allow you to brainstorm ideas with other teachers. School and classroom events can be shared through blogs.
The students can also benefit from blogs as well. Students can connect with other students locally or internationally. They can also go online and see what they have missed if they are sick and go check the lesson plan out. Students can blog about what is going on in their classroom. Also, they can help each other with homework by doing a blog. Finally, blogs are a great source for students to go outside the walls of the walls of the classroom.

About Me
I am Emma Jones, a Junior at South Alabama. I am currently seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have had a lot of experience working with elementary school aged children. Some of my past work experience includes working as a nanny for two families for over a year. I also babysit quite often still. These experiences have taught me how to cope with the demands of children. Also, it has given great appreciation for what teachers go through on a daily basis.
In the future, as a teacher I hope to have a rich learning environment for my students. I hope to give them the best education they deserve with the resources I am given. I hope to implement the tools that I have learned from my classes at University of South Alabama to create creative lessons plans, unique bulletin board displays, and welcoming door art. A neat idea I learned about was blogging for teachers. Teachers put up there lesson plans and brainstormed ideas on the internet, so that other teachers could get helpful information for teaching their class.
